Finding Unfamiliar Vocabulary from Game



1. Allee: a path or a walkway in a landscaped area that is bordered by trees, tall plants, hedges, or fencing.
Example: the latter to be viewed at the far end of a huge double allee of beeches.

2. Whet: to increase someone's interest in and wish for something, usually by giving them a small experience of it.
Example: I've read an excerpt of the book on the Web and it's whetted my appetite.

3. Coerce: to persuade someone forcefully to do something that they are unwilling to do.
Example: The court heard that the six defendants had been coerced into making a confession. 

4. Fungi: a taxonomic kingdom, or in some classification schemes a division of the kingdom Plantae, comprising all the fungus groups and sometimes also the slime molds.
Example: Turns out the fungi in our inguinal crease are not the same ones on our heel pad or behind our ear.

5. Mosey:  to go in a particular direction slowly and with no definite purpose.
Example:  He moseyed on over to the bar.

6. Kadi: a person or thing that shows the existence or direction of a trend.
Example: He assumes, as he still might safely do, the venality of the kadi or official interpreter of the law.

7. Nit: the egg of a louse, which sticks to the fur of an animal or the hair of a person.
Example: A few of the children have nits.

8. Ret: to withdrawing or retreating from a position or situation.
Example: After realizing the danger, the soldiers decided to ret from the battlefield.


9. Yurt: a large tent used for holidays in Western countries, based on the shape and style of a traditional yurt.
Example:  All our yurts are made of quality canvas and raised on wooden platforms for warmth and an even surface.

10. Thump: to hit somebody/something hard, especially with your closed hand.
Example: I'll thump you if you say that again.

 Nur Ummi Nazhira Yasmin / 10621263 / 3SA09 Task 10 Future forms: 'will', 'be going to', and present continuous      For this assignment, I studied materials from the British Council Learn English learning app. I learned B1-B2 Grammar about Future forms: 'will', 'be going to', and present continuous. In this unit, there are materials, grammar test 1 and grammar test 2. The materials are easy to understand and short. We use different verb forms to talk about the plan for the future. For 'will' we use it to talk about spontaneous plans, for 'be going to' we use it to talk about plans decided, and for present continuous we use it when the plan is an arrangement. I have studied this before, but this is very helpful to remember this material. I will try other materials from this learning app. So, here are my grammar test 1 and 2 results: Examples of the test questions are like this:

Here, there are many types of learning and languages. I chose English for Teaching Purposes. Since I want to be a teacher, I tried this material. In the Week 1 material, I was taught about how to teach well, teaching strategies, methods, and others. The material is a bit difficult, but it is learning and I will keep trying.
